sculpture #1 (cold turkey) is a durational performance in which the artist lies naked clutching a frozen turkey body. Contact microphones are placed inside the frozen turkey as well as on the artist's neck, capturing the melting ice inside the turkey and the shivering and breathing of the artist.
Clutching a frozen body is a confrontation of the cold that is both a symbol and reality of depression and winter. As the artist's body heat warms the turkey body, the artist absorbs the cold into her own body. At some point, the temperature at the contact point of the two bodies will be the same, the result of a slow bond.
